ACADEMY OF THE COMPANY THEATRE
Founded in 1987, the Academy of the Company Theatre (A.C.T.) provides education in the performing arts through productions, classes, and workshops. A.C.T. puts on four elaborate youth and teen musicals and one teen play per year, featuring gorgeous costumes, grand sets, and live orchestras. A.C.T.’s educational classes (formerly known as Studio One) enrich the lives of both children and adults year-round. A faculty of established teacher/artists educate, nurture and encourage proper technical development in voice, acting, movement and music, leading students to empowered, positive experiences.
AV VIOLIN STUDIO
AV Violin Studio offers private and small group instruction for violin and viola, ages 4+.
BOSSE SCHOOL OF MUSIC
Bosse School of Music offers private lessons, ensembles, early childhood courses, summer programs and courses in music theory as well as technology. Designed to help students develop their overall musicianship, our programs are taught by our faculty of college-degreed instructors.
We offer private music lessons for voice, guitar, piano, drums, violin, viola, bass, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, flute & ukulele.
COMMONWEALTH MUSIC SCHOOL
The Commonwealth Music School is a traveling music school offering private music lessons in the student's own home. We primarily serve the towns of Hingham, Norwell, Scituate and Cohasset teaching guitar, piano and drums. Our students range in age from six years old and up.
At Commonwealth Music School, our music lessons are catered to the individual student and their own unique way of learning. We believe that there is no one universal way to learn music, and our program is designed around this concept. While each lesson is deeply rooted in music fundamentals, we offer a music lesson that is fun and challenging while working towards realizing the full potential and aspirations of each individual.
Our staff is comprised of musicians who are active members of the local music community. Each teacher has studied music at the college level, and has a great amount of experience playing music at the professional level.
JESSE STIGLICH MUSIC SCHOOL
JSMS offers private music lessons and group ensembles provided by stellar faculty that have backgrounds in studying, teaching and performing music throughout New England and beyond. New students will be matched with teachers that are a good fit for them, and students will always be provided a safe space for learning, creativity, experimenting, and being themselves.
JODI GRIFFITH MUSIC STUDIO
Jodi offers instruction for both children and adults in piano, violin, and voice. Lessons can be held either at her studio, through an online portal, or in the comfort of a student's home. The styles she teaches for both violin and piano are pop, rock, folk, country, R&B, reggae, funk, and jazz. She also teaches fiddle methods. She teaches most any style for voice except opera.
LAURA'S CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Laura's Center for the Arts (LCA) at the Emilson YMCA in Hanover is a stunning, vibrant community arts center dedicated to celebrating all arts on the South Shore. Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment for all ages and abilities to explore and discover the wonder of the arts. The YMCA is offering music for pre-school aged children this fall.
SOUTH SHORE CHILDREN’S CHORUS
The mission of the South Shore Children’s Chorus is to provide quality musical education and vocal training to students living in the South Shore communities and beyond. SSCC keeps the development and well-being of our students as our top priority, and aims to create a safe space and loving community for choristers to learn, to grow, and to find their own voice.
SPOTLIGHT MUSIC AND THEATER ACADEMY
We specialize in training singers and instrumentalists to be the best musicians and performers they can be. We empower our students by using traditional and creative techniques that ignite a passion for the arts. We will teach you proper technique, ear training, basic theory, how to read music, and develop your repertoire. Our job is to help you reach your fullest performance potential! We offer 30, 45 and 60 minute private voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, drums, percussion, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, and beatbox lessons.
SOUTH SHORE CONSERVATORY
South Shore Conservatory connects students to group and one-on-one instruction with our incredible faculty of professional musicians and music educators. We teach children and adults of all ages, musical interests, and abilities, from beginning through advanced. Lessons are available in a full range of instruments including piano, voice, guitar, strings, drums, percussion, woodwinds, and brass. Students can explore a variety of genres and styles from classical and Celtic to jazz, rock, and pop. The first lesson in any instrument is free.
